The church worth looking for

Blaine Community Quilter's

We are volunteers, we meet at Blaine United Methodist Church every Wednesday 3:00 to 9:00
We are a hands on service group. We sew scrappy quilts and mittens. We do not use patterns. We use recycled materials. We share, we cut, we sew, we have fun.
We laugh, we have homework...
We are Grandma's, empty nesters, teachers, strangers and neighbors, we become friends.
You do not have to know how to sew, just be a good sport and pitch in with something.
We are growing in numbers, in knowledge, in confidence.
We give back...We are blessed.

Please recycle your stuff such as cotton, flannel, denim jeans, and bed sheets. Anything that can be cut into stripes.

May all your ups and downs be with a needle and thread.

Some people come for an hour, some stay the entire time, some people just take work home and drop off their projects. Bring your own sewing machine and tools or use ours.
We have a group meal around 5:30 (soup & sandwich) bring a sandwich item to share. Can't bring food? The suggested donation is $2.00,
ALL ARE WELCOME.

All of our quilts are given back to our community, family, and friends of this group. Some quilts are set aside for fundraising for supplies and machine repairs for this group only.

Can't sew? Can you serve food? Or help on the ironing board? We also need sweepers.
We began this group on September 17, 2006. (we stop meeting for the summer and holiday)

This is just a short list of where our quilts and mittens go, we sew heart pillows for the V.A. special quilts for vets. Baby blankets for bundles of love (Minnesota babies in need).
Sharing and Caring, Mary Jo Copeland organization in Minneapolis for the homeless. Neighbors in our area that are on active military duty. Community outreach, people that we know of in this area that just need comforting. Camp Onomia Bible camp has a fundraiser we donate to.
Thanks for sharing and for caring.

We take donations, sewing machines, fabrics, threads, notions, etc...
Currently we are in need of storage for fabric bins. If anyone can store some containers we would be grateful.
We need someone to volunteer for these positions.
